People weren’t sure that this PC game will get launched on date. Sound support seems iffy.Hundreds of users have admired the way Theme Hospital PC game is performing on low-end PCs. The game loaded and ran fine in version 0.60 but, became problematic in-game. Sound support for theme hospital has always been iffy, even under DOS. Sound worked with no problems after running that sound setup BAT file. But its annoying to play the game because its running slow (on my 3ghz.). I have the same problems as above and I'm also wondering what sound setup I should use.Ĭrash after splash screen when digital audio is set. Runs fine on a Pentium Dual-Core 1.6Ghz.(Laptop) Would NOT advise going under 1800 clock cycles, otherwise it becomes choppy. How do you download a game? if you could help me out it would be appreciated, no problems ( 11:22)Īs most people have had, I too have had no sound.īut this isn't a problem if you listen to music while playing it, or remember what it was like originaly. A 2.61 GHz duel core should be able to run this. I am still having very slow playback, even with frames turned up 75000+. In dosbox game launcher I have the display set to 'surface' and the sound to 'sb16'.Īlthough it appears there should be no problems with the latest version. The slowdown seems to have been largely caused on this machine by the display scaler being on, so turn it off if your having issues. After that the game should be ok (it was the solution for my launcher). You could try going to the SOUND folder in the games directory and click on SETSOUND to set your midi and digital audio options in windows. If you copy the cds content to your pc, start the game from dosbox or a launcher, running the HOSPITAL file, and have no sound, it may be because the games config hasnt been able to write any audio settings. No slowdown or sound skipping when I move objects quickly. Its playing well on vista using dosbox game launcher (with dosbox 0.73), on a low end 1.5ghz dual laptop with 2gb ram. Works for me no slowdown on low end laptop ( 20:25)

It says "this program cannot be run in dos mode" and I've tried both v0.74 and 0.73 and it says the same thing in both. Runs on 0.72, 0.73 and 0.74 when sound is turned off, else it gives same error: I used the orignial Theme Hospital with the one offical patch (from Bullfrog itself, not that community one). If u have done this start the game normally and the sound will work nice and smooth. Make sure to set "Creative Labs Sound Blaster Pro (New Version)" on "MIDI Music" and "Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 or AWE32" on "Digital audio". Just execute "SETSOUND.EXE" in the "SOUND" directory and configure the sound itself. Theme Hospital works fine on Version 0.74.
